About Installer Institute

The Installer Institute opened in 1992 when Bill Jones, owner of Metra Electronics, realized that an organized training program was needed for an industry that was growing too fast for the unskilled installer to keep up. To help make sure that it didn't grow in a direction that included poor installation skills. Mr. Jones started the Installer Institute, a technical training facility for mobile electronics.

Over the past 18 years the institute has graduated thousands of installers in our beginning and advanced hands-on courses. Installer Institute not only provides five and ten week Mobile Installation Courses but offers an individual the ability to take whichever week best suits their needs. Installer Institute has built an educational standard over the years and we continue to push the level of education we offer our students. Graduates of the Installer Institute will find employers recognize and appreciate certified and well educated applicants and employees, and can often advance in their careers thanks to the training received while enrolled in our course.
